A Trip to the local Marina in Port Credit, Ontario, Canada

Today was a rainny Summer day, but that didn't stop me from going out there early morning and enjoying the warmth close to the Lake Ontario.  Here are some pencil sketches of the Marina in the Promenade Lakeshore Park.

Our Garden, Oakville, Ontario, Canada

Now it is Summer in Ontario, Canada.  When it gets hot the flowers bloom and the colours are vibrant.  This is the garden that my husband and I created.  It's ours to enjoy.  These are some watercolour sketches that I drew this weekend for you to enjoy.

Drawing Warms

I never thought I would have to draw warms.... one of my clients decided to have a monthly special on the website so I created cartoon characters for each month.  These illustrations take a long time to produce since they are planned scenes, pencil drawing then coloured with watercolours and guache.  The result is very good.

An afternoon in Oakville, Ontario Marina

I really enjoy the ocean but where I live the closest to water is the Lake Ontario.  A few minutes from my house we have the Oakville Marina, which is very entertaining and beautiful when it's a warm day.  This Sunday I enjoyed an afternoon with my friend Helene.  We sat on a dock and drew the boats coming and going.  As we were relaxing and enjoying ourselves, two families of gueese came by and visited us.  The little ones were so cute following their parents.  I tried to capture them on my ink and watercolour drawing above.

My Home in Oakville, Ontario, Canada

I am certain that all of us always want to draw everything that we see.  When I travel I draw scenes, buildings, etc. but I never thought to draw my own house.  I did this yesterday, it was a sunny day in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, which we don't have too many.  I used permanent pen and water colours.  Here is the result afer 1.5 hours.  This is the vew from my front neighbour's lawn.

A visit to my in-laws backyard

There are so many things we can draw.  The possibilities are endless.  I visited my in-laws backyard and I loved the fall scene.  The trees and fresh air makes for a relaxing afternoon.  Most of the time I travel with a sketch book and a pencil.  On the pictures below I set up my easel and used my oil paints on a canvas.

Urban Sketches - Chicago

I had the pleasure to visit Chicago in the summer of 2010.  I was inspired by the architecture and the atmosphere.  I sat down and drew what I saw.  It was a wonderful experience.  Stella Jurgen
